Riya is 8 years old. She lives in a one-room house in Sheetla Colony, one of Gurugram's oldest urban slums. Every morning, she wakes up, folds her clothes, and walks to class — no school bag, no new pencils, but never late. Not once.
There are over 1,250 children like Riya in Gurugram's slums who want nothing more than a chance to learn. But poverty, hunger, and lack of access to proper schools have quietly stolen that chance from them — before they even knew it was gone.
Mera Parivar NGO has been fighting that reality since 2006.
They run three Bridge Schools in Sheetla Colony, Surat Nagar, and Sanjay Gram — offering free English-medium education from Nursery to Class 4. Every child who walks through their doors also gets a hot meal every day, because Mera Parivar knows that a hungry child cannot learn. They've already impacted over 2.5 million lives across 7 states, but right now, the 1,250 children in their classrooms need your support to keep going.
